InviteKit Calendar Files
Make .ics calendar files and add-to-calendar links for any event, including repeating events.
InviteKit turns event details into a calendar file (.ics) that imports cleanly into Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook and others, plus one-click add-to-calendar links for Google Calendar, Outlook.com, Office 365 and Yahoo. It handles time zones with daylight saving time, repeating events (daily, weekly on chosen days, monthly by date or by weekday such as the last Friday, yearly) with an end date, a number of times, or skipped dates, reminders, and multi-session schedules in one file.
What it does
- RFC 5545 calendar files: time zone definitions, correct escaping and line folding, stable event IDs
- Add-to-calendar links for Google Calendar, Outlook.com, Office 365 and Yahoo Calendar
- Repeating events: daily, weekly on chosen days, monthly by date or nth weekday, yearly; count, until date, skipped dates
- Lists the first dates of a series in the event's time zone and optionally in attendees' time zones, with daylight saving changes flagged
- Reminders (alarms) in the file, all-day and multi-day events, events that end after midnight
- Course and event schedules: up to 40 sessions in one .ics file
Try asking ChatGPT
“Make a calendar invite for 'Product launch webinar' on 2026-11-05 18:30-20:00 Europe/Warsaw with a 30-minute reminder”
“Create an .ics for a weekly yoga class every Tuesday and Thursday at 7am in Chicago, 10 sessions from 2026-11-03”
“Calendar file for my course: Jan 12, 19, 26 2027 at 18:00-19:30 in London, Room 4”
Limitations
- Makes calendar files and links only: it does not read or change your calendar and does not email invitations or track replies
- Outlook.com, Office 365 and Yahoo links add the first date of a repeating event; the .ics file and Google Calendar link add the whole series
- Reminders are kept in the .ics file; web links use the calendar's default reminders
- Up to 40 sessions per schedule file; repeating events up to 1,000 dates
